ADH1300 1.3kW dc-dc half-brick

Called ADH1300-48S28, it is aimed at telecom wireless base stations and other equipment with RF power amplifiers.

Input range is 36 to 75Vdc, the output is adjustable across 14 to 33Vdc, and efficiency peaks at 95.5% to keep heat dissipation down.

“RF power amplifiers, the highest energy-consuming part of base stations, need the highest available efficiency during all operations,” said Advanced Energy v-p Joe Voyles.

Digital control and monitoring is through a PMBus interface, and protections include over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit.

Two versions are available, both baseplate cooled, one requiring a positive signal to enable it and the other a negative signal.

With 48Vin, full power is available until the baseplate reaches 90°C, from which it derates linearly to 40A max at the maximum temperature of 100°C.

Greater than 1.5 million hours of operation are expected.
