The 4 x 4mm potentiometers, called the TSM41, are sealed to IP67.
They are available in both top and side adjustment styles, and in 16 values between 10Ω and 1MΩ (in 1-2-5 spacing). Adjustment is nominally over 12 turns.
Power rating is 250mW at +85°C, except for 500kΩ (80mW) and 1MΩ (40mW) types.
Typical temperature coefficient is ±100ppm/°C.
Automated placing is possible on both sides of the PCB, said the company, and the sealing will “withstand standard board wash processing”.
Use is foreseen in welding equipment, power tools, smoke detectors and air conditioning.
These are similar to the 4 x 4mm TSM3 trimmers that Vishay announced in January
“TSM41 is a slightly larger, higher-power, tighter-tolerance trimmer – 4mm, 0.25 W and ±10 % – but with a narrower temperature range and maximum resistance of 1 MΩ,” a spokesman for the company told Electronics Weekly. “TSM3 is smaller and supports up to 2MΩ, has a wider operating temperature range, but with 0.125W power handling, ±20% tolerance and a lower limiting voltage.”
