There are 5W (EHL05) and 20W (EHL20) types, all single output, with 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 24 or 48Vdc outputs depending on version.
There is a choice of open-frame or encapsulated (see photo) packaging, and efficiency is typically between 82 and 88% – 3.3V types are ~76%.
Encapsulated 20W versions measure around 70 x 47mm and 29mm tall plus pins, while 5W types are 52 x 27 x 23mm. Open frame sizes are a little smaller.
Operational temperature varies over all the models, starting between -40 and -25°C, and going up to between +70 and +80°C. Derating starts as low as +45 or as high as +60°C.
Derating also starts at inputs below 90Vac.
The units are IEC Class II and are specifically designed to cope with phase-to-phase operation on 480Vac systems.
“OVC III [over-voltage category III] approval enables direct connection to industrial wiring installations, enhances electrical safety, and reduces the risk of damage to sensitive electronics,” claimed the company.
Approvals include EN61000-4 for EMC immunity, EN55032 and EN61000-3 for EMC emissions, and IEC62368-1 and EN60335-1 for safety.
They meet Class A emissions with no external components, or Class B with external filtering components.
“This broad range of approvals ensures safe operation in industrial electronics, robotics, renewable energy, automation and household applications, while meeting Class A noise requirements without needing external filtering,” said XP.
The warranty is three years and they are available direct from XP or via Avnet Abacus, Digi-Key, Distrelec, Farnell, Mouser or RS Components, plus approved regional distributors.
