The company said the new facility will complement existing plants and continue its near-shoring efforts to minimize supply chain risk.

Optimas' Wood Dale Illinois Manufacturing Facility

On Oct. 10, Wood Dale, Illinois-based fasteners manufacturer and distributor Optimas Solutions announced it will open a cold form manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico, in the second half of 2024.

The new production center is expected to complement existing manufacturing facilities in Illinois and Droitwich Spa, United Kingdom, and will continue the company’s near-shoring efforts to minimize supply chain risk, Optimas said in a news release.

“More than ever, resource availability has given way to accessibility in the form of regionalization,” said Daniel Harms, CEO of Americas. “Our expanding localization strategy enables us to be more agile with our manufacturing and sourcing capabilities for industrial customers and suppliers. ”

Ricardo Alonzo Rodríguez, Vice President and General Manager of Optimas in México, said the new plant would ensure that customers and suppliers will have access to the same engineering, tooling, manufacturing and processes regardless of where the company produces fasteners.

“We took great care to design our Mexico facility to mirror our capabilities at our manufacturing operations in Wood Dale so they can effectively play off each other,” Rodríguez said.
