It seems that Mohammad Moniruzzaman, who moved from being employed by Valeo to getting a job with Nvidia, made a video presentation after his move to Nvidia, to a group from Valeo.
Moniruzzaman’s presentation displayed a file entitled ‘Valeo Docs’ suggesting Moniruzzaman had taken Valeo files when he left Valeo.
Valeo’s lawsuit alleges these files contained the source code for Valeo’s parking and driving assistance software – a field in which Nvidia was working.
“Valeo participants on the videoconference call immediately recognised the source code and took a screenshot before Mr Moniruzzaman was alerted of his error,” the lawsuit claims. “by then, it was too late to cover his tracks. So brazen was Mr Moniruzzaman’s theft that the file path on his screen still read ValeoDocs”.
“Nvidia has saved millions, perhaps hundreds of millions, of dollars in development costs, and generated profits that it did not properly earn and to which it was not entitled,” continues the lawsuit, “in using these stolen trade secrets to develop a competing product, Nvidia has diminished the value of Valeo’s trade secrets.”
