MROP supplies distributor Martin Inc. announced Nov. 30 that it has appointed industry veteran Scott McDaniel as the Executive Vice President to lead the company’s Fastening business unit.

The company detailed that, in this role, McDaniel will spearhead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for Martin Fastening to optimize operational efficiency and profitability, and foster synergy across all Martin business units. He will also provide leadership as a key member of Martin’s executive leadership group.

McDaniel will oversee the team at Martin’s Jackson, Tennessee and Ridgeland, Mississippi locations.

McDaniel has a 25-year career in industrial distribution, which has included leadership roles in the past decade at Optimus Solutions, Wurth Industry North America and Anixter International. Most recently, he was the North America Managing Director at Houston-based TR Fasteners, and he is the current Vice President of the National Fastener Distributors Association.

“We are excited to welcome Scott to the Martin team. His proven track record of driving growth and his deep understanding of the industry make him the ideal candidate,” Martin Co-CEO Douglas Ruggles said in a news release. “We look forward to his contributions as we continue to innovate and expand our operations.”

A few weeks earlier on Nov. 8, Martin announced the appointment of Steve McClanahan as the company’s new CFO.

The addition of McDaniel follows the sudden Aug. 31 passing of Marc Strandquist, who led Martin Fastening Solutions as EVP upon joining the company in January 2023.
