Puls has introduced a range of DIN rail electronic circuit breakers for 24V loads from 90 to 480W.
“With a width of only 22.5mm, PISA-M is the smallest four-channel electronic circuit breaker in the market,” according to the company. “PISA-M features a digital coded interface providing a way to remotely control the devices and to monitor the operational system status. This means power distribution can be managed via a PLC and a central user interface.”
The device is a positive rail distribution and protection unit with one input and four identical outputs, each rated at 2, 4, 6 or 8A depending on the version purchased. There is also an adjustable version where the limits can be set between 1 and 8A.
It also requires a connection to the negative rail, and provides a negative rail output for total loads below 20A, beyond which separate external connections are required.
Outputs are protected against over-current, short-circuits and input under-voltage, and the system power supply is protected from over-load.
In in-built isolated digital interface is included for remote-control and remote monitoring which “means power distribution can be managed via a PLC and a central user interface”, said the company.
As well as being turned on and off remotely, the four output channels can be switched on or off using front panel push buttons – and two-colour LEDs show the real-time status of each output channel.
When power is first applied, the output channels are enabled sequentially with small delays, starting with channel 1.
Front panel power connections are push-in, and the units can also have thresholds appropriate for 12V operation.
