Tek-TAP1500L 7m 1.5GHz scope probe

TAP1500L is the name of the extended version.

“Our customers can’t always have their oscilloscopes close to their device-under-test,” said Tektronix probe manager Andrew Mumford, “and the longer cable benefits customers who use flying probe testers that require long cables for routing through automated positioning systems.”

Rise time is <267ps and input capacitance is ≤1pF input capacitance.

The probe head is designed to reach small components, and its probing accessories are designed to work with surface-mount components down to 0.5mm pitch.

Electronics Weekly has yet to see the L-version data sheet – the shorter non-L version has 1MΩ input resistance, -8V to +8V input dynamic range and -10 to +10Vdc input offset range.

For the probe to work with a scope, the instrument has to have Tektronix’ ‘TekVPI’ interface, which both supplies power to the probe and sets up the scope appropriately.
