Norio Nakajima Murata Caen

“With the launch of this new line, we are continuing to invest in growing our production facilities and our local workforce,” said Murata Manufacturing president Norio Nakajima (picured). “It represents a significant step forward in our growth in the sector and demonstrates our determination to reinvest in the European electronics industry, well supported by Europe through the Chips Act and IPCEI initiatives.”

The silicon capacitors made there have heights down to 50µm and are aimed at applications such as implantable medical systems, telecommunication infrastructures and mobile phones – primarily the latter, said Murata, which recently said that it would spend €60m in the Caen site, which has over 250  employees in the clean room, production line, and other business functions.
