Siemens says it has fully restored it’s EDA sales to China.
Synopsys says it has resumed servicing existing clients in China.
“On July 2, Synopsys received a letter from the Bureau of Industry and Security of the U.S. Department of Commerce informing Synopsys that the export restrictions related to China, pursuant to a letter received on May 29, 2025, have now been rescinded, effective immediately. Synopsys is working to restore access to the recently restricted products in China,” says the company.
Cadence says it is in the process of restoring access to software and technology to affected customers.
Siemens, Synopsys and Cadence have a collective 82% market share of China’s EDA tools market.
The US concessions on EDA are part of a deal with China to restore rare earth mineral exports from China to the US.
