“The connector features an armored design that covers both ends of the housing with metal for enhanced robustness, and a reduction in the risk of housing damage from misalignment when mating,” said the company, which specified allowable misalignment as ±0.32mm in the pitch direction and ±0.23mm across the width.
The signal contacts are rated for 300mA and have a 0.35mm pitch, and the two parts are designed for pick-and-place assembly.
Operation is over -55 to +85°C and up to 30V, and the data sheet includes thorough mechanical specifications including shock, vibration and sulphur dioxide resistance.
The company sees the connectors being used in phones and wearables, in applications such as connecting USB ports.
