Each Ethernet port is powered by Intel I210IS GbE controllers and accessible via a PCIe Gen 2 x 4 interface for high-speed data throughput. Each Ethernet channel is routed to the P16 back I/O connector and mapped to the X12d range (the P12d connector pins) to connect to the carrier card, according to VITA 46.9 specifications.
In addition to IEEE 1588 / 802.1AS Precision Time Protocol support for precision time synchronisation, it has IEEE 802.1Qav AVB (audio/video bridging) support, with software extensions and supports PXE and iSCSI boot via 16M flash memory per port.
Tews Technologies designed the module for use in the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (card edge) and is conduction-cooled to ANSU/VITA 20 standard for rugged deployments in aerospace, defence and industrial applications.
It is also equipped with an onboard I²C temperature sensor for thermal monitoring. Status LEDs indicate real-time network activity, and there is general purpose I/O support to enable auxiliary IEEE 1588 synchronisation.
The module is a standard single width format, measuring 143.75mmx74mm.
