“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to thank Gene Sheridan for his vision in creating and leading Navitas over the last decade,” said Navitas’ chairman Richard Hendrix. “We deeply appreciate Gene’s leadership and impact, and his invaluable contributions to the board’s succession planning and recruiting efforts. We are excited to welcome Chris Allexandre as our new president and CEO. We believe his track record of driving transformation and delivering growth in power semiconductor markets makes him the right leader for the next chapter of Navitas.”
Allexandre has more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Most recently, he was general manager of Renesas’ power division and “led the pivot of its power strategies toward the cloud infrastructure, automotive and industrial markets, including Renesas’ acquisition of Transphorm”, according to Navitas.
Before that he was Renesas’ chief sales and marketing officer, an executive at IDT (acquired by Renesas in 2019), sales v-p at NXP, sales v-p at Fairchild and, beginning his career, had various roles over 16 years at Texas Instruments, progressing up from graduate to EMEA president of sales in 2012.
“With power demand growing in AI data center and energy infrastructure, I see promising opportunities to drive expansion,” said Allexandre.
Navitas is a maker of GaN and SiC power transistors, based in Torrance California.
Allexandre holds a MSc in electrical engineering from ISEN (the Institut Supérieur de l’Électronique et du Numérique) in Lille, France.
