Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based procurement and supply chain solutions provider AFFLINK has appointed Michael Wilson as President and CEO, the company announced June 1. AFFLINK has also named Chip Shields as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, according to a news release.

“Michael and Chip have done a tremendous job helping grow the AFFLINK business,” said Patrick Hagerty, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Performance Food Group (PFG), AFFLINK’s parent company.

Michael Wilson

Wilson most recently served as AFFLINK’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. During his 18 years with AFFLINK, Wilson has led various business units, including Industrial Packaging, National Accounts, Marketing and Events, Indirect and Spend Solutions for PFG operating companies. Wilson succeeds former AFFLINK President and CEO Dennis Riffer, who announced in April that he plans to retire.

“It’s an honor to work alongside Chip and the AFFLINK team to continue driving growth and being a differentiator in the market for our Members, Suppliers, and PFG OpCos,” Wilson said in the release. “We are acutely aware of the responsibility afforded us in these new roles, and we’re committed to being a re-investable business that earns the trust and confidence of our stakeholders every day.”

Shields joined AFFLINK in 2002 and has held leadership roles in finance, operations and information technology. He most recently served as Vice President of Finance. Before joining AFFLINK, Shields spent six years as CFO of Boone Newspapers, a national network of privately held community newspapers.
