Belgium-based plastic piping systems manufacturer and distributor Aliaxis SA agreed to acquire the manufacturing assets of Johnson Controls CPVC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Huntsville, AL-based Johnson Controls — a pipe and fittings business — generates annual sales of approximately $100 million and has more than 100 employees.

“It is another step in providing more complete customer solutions in our product portfolio across the United States and brings extra potential for Aliaxis,” Aliaxis Manager Director Thierry Vanlancker said in an Aug. 13 news release.

The acquired assets will be part of an Aliaxis brand, IPEX, in North America.

“We are thrilled to welcome the CPVC pipe and fittings team of Johnson Controls,” Alaxis’ Divisional CEO Americas Alex Mestres said. “This acquisition provides us with a unique opportunity to expand our offering and continue to be the partner of choice for our national customers.”

The acquisition is expected to close within the next few weeks.
