Avent introduces a new product brand, and Tria Technologies, a business unit aimed at consolidating compute design and manufacturing.

Avnet

Electronic components distributor Avnet announced the launch of a new product brand and corresponding business unit, Tria Technologies. This initiative aims to consolidate Avnet’s compute design and manufacturing capabilities under one unified brand.

The Tria brand encompasses Avnet’s global design and manufacturing capabilities with teams and campuses in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

“Tria products and services add significant value for Avnet customers and are a differentiator for the company’s supplier partners,”Avnet CEO Phil Gallagher said in a July 18 news release. “As more OEMs look to offload risk and risk and outsource complex manufacturing, they are moving to a modular approach with minimal compromise in size or capability. Avnet, through Tria, is uniquely positioned to help customers deliver on this strategy.”

The Tria Technologies team will focus on designing and manufacturing standard embedded compute products as well as customer designs for specific customer projects.

“Tria represents a step change in what OEMs can achieve in their product design by making it easier to leverage the latest technology and get ahead of the competition,” commented Thomas Staudinger, president of Embedded Solution at Avnet.

Avnet — No.2 on MDM’s Top Distributors List for Electronics — had 2023 revenues of $25.6 billion.
