Avnet Fills New Leadership Role – EPS News

Avnet (Nasdaq: AVT) has hired Rebeca Obregon-Jimenez as senior vice president of Strategic Business Engagements and Supplier Management. In this role, Ms. Obregon-Jimenez will manage Avnet’s United, Velocity and Integrated business units, IP&E (interconnect, passive and electromechanical) supplier management and strategy, mergers and acquisitions. This is a new role on the Avnet leadership team that is focused on creating strong, long-lasting relationships to further position these strategic business units for success.

“We’re pleased to bring on such a talented individual to lead key global organizations focused on providing a seamless customer experience,” said Phil Gallagher, CEO, Avnet. “Rebeca will be overseeing strategic areas of our company that provide product integration and leading-edge supply chain solutions and we’re confident that under her leadership these areas will continue to thrive.”

Obregon-Jimenez has more than 30 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry where she has built and grown teams and businesses from inception to profitable worldwide market leaders. She most recently was a Corporate Vice President at Amkor Technology. She has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the National Technological University. She resides in Phoenix.
