Back on July 13, MDM posted a news brief upon learning that Phoenix, AZ-based multifamiliy property maintenance supplies distributor AZP Multifamily Supply Co. — also known as AZ Partsmaster — had abruptly shuttered its operations. It ended up as the third-most-read news item on MDM during 2023.

Now, the former distributor is liquidating its inventory via an online auction.

On March 20, LocalAuctions.com shared with MDM that it is currently hosting a three-part online liquidation auction to sell the entire contents of AZP’s Phoenix distribution center at 7125 West Sherman St. in Phoenix, including its remaining inventory and facility fixtures.

Gabriel Prado, President of LocalAuctions.com, detailed that the auction went live on March 20 and is open to the general public through March 21 at Noon MST. The public is invited to place bids on any of the assets onsite that include new AC units, doors, bathtubs, sinks, cabinets, flooring, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, tools and more.

“This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who owns a home or rental properties to buy brand new materials, fixtures & supplies at a huge discount,” Prado told MDM.

Participation is open to anyone over 18 years of age, and registration is free. Each item has a $5 opening bid and everything must be sold and removed from the facility by March 30.

Buyers were able to preview the items in person at AZP’s distribution center on March 20 from 9 am to 3 pm MST.

Winning bidders are required to pick up and remove their items on March 22 through March 26 from 9 am to 3 pm MST.

For nearly 40 years, AZP Multifamily Supply Co. delivered property maintenance and renovation solutions to the multifamily industry nationwide. AZP Multifamily was a large, privately-held distributor serving the Multifamily industry with products and services to support maintenance, operations and renovations.

A February 2023 article from AZ Big Media shared that the company’s President and CEO, Darren Rawson, said AZP’s 2022 sales were approximately $155 million and that it was eyeing $225 million for 2023.

AZP was founded in 1985, initially selling and delivering maintenance supplies to owners of apartment complexes. As of February 2023, the company’s presence comprised 13 warehouses between nine U.S. states. The company acquired the MRO division of Murray Supply Co. in mid-2020, adding locations in Charlotte and Raleigh, NC.

“For me, we’re a $500 million company in five years,” Rawson said in a 2022 interview with In Business Magazine Phoenix. “At that level, we can’t be pushed out of the market; we have to be reckoned with.”

Rawson joined the company as President & CEO in early 2020 after previous roles at Steren Electronics, HD Supply, DispenceSource, SunChoice Medical Supply and Grainger.
