On June 9, toolmaker Bosch Tools announced it would invest $130 million in a Lincolnton, North Carolina plant expansion that is expected to create 400 news jobs, according to media reports.

Bosch said it plans to build a 325,000-square-foot building as part of the expansion. The upgrade is expected to support power tool accessory manufacturing, including drills, routers and saws.

More than 500 staff members already work at the plant, according to Business North Carolina.

The Charlotte Business Journal reported that the new jobs include minimum average yearly wages of $53,204, which is above the Lincoln County average of $49,332. The new facility also will include space for manufacturing, logistics and warehouse operations, according to the Journal.

“It is great news that Bosch has selected to expand its North American manufacturing operations right here in Lincolnton,” North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said in a statement. “Our state’s strong rural communities and talented workforce continue to attract businesses and provide opportunities for growth.”
