The UK company’s range of medium-sized TFT displays are suitable for a range of industry sectors, applications and operating environments. It can design-in, support and supply TFT display modules in sizes ranging from 5-inch to 12-inch and with a range of display resolutions, high brightness options, interface types and value-added features.
These displays can be customised with a cover glass or a resistive and multi-touch projected capacitive touchscreen, depending on the application requirements. Options include touch interfaces for interactive user products and there is cover glass available for additional display protection and durability.
Brightness specifications range from 300cd/m² to 1000cd/m² versions supported with long-life LED backlights. There are high brightness specifications for image clarity and readability in direct sunlight, particularly for outdoor kiosks, navigation systems, and industrial use. An extended operating temperature range is -30°C to +85°C, for use in extreme operating environments.
Display interfaces include common data interfaces, CMOS, RGB, LVDS, eDP and MIPI. There is also the LVDS option. Its low power consumption and robust high-speed data transfer capabilities make this suitable for industrial applications.
Optical bonding and UV protection options for these displays are also available. Optical bonding improves visibility by reducing internal reflections and increasing contrast in high-brightness environments. UV protection is also available to prevent damage from prolonged exposure to sunlight, making these displays suitable for outdoor applications.
RDS assures continuity of supply, describing this as imperative for industrial, medical and operation-critical applications. Long-term support ensures that these displays can be sourced consistently, reducing the risk of obsolescence and retaining product quality and reliability, said the company.
