ECMD expands its building materials portfolio with Falls City Lumber, representing the ninth distributor on its platform.
North Wilkesboro, NC-based building materials distributor ECMD has acquired Falls City Lumber Company.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Falls City Lumber — a board, pattern stock, fiber cement and PVC products distributor — serves retail lumber years in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia. The Louisville, KY-based company operates in Cincinnati, OH as well.
“We are thrilled to welcome all the Falls City Lumber employees to the ECMD family,” ECMD President and CEO Kelly Hendrix said in a Sept. 3 news release. “They will continue to operate independently, maintaining their local presence and customer relationships.”
ECMD built a portfolio of eight operating divisions — EastCoast Mouldings, Klumb Forest Products, Crown Heritage Stairs, ECMD Distribution, Arndt & Herman Building Products, Clifton Moulding Co., Madison Lumber Co. and Falls City Lumber.
“The fit between our two companies is a great match,” Falls City Lumber VP Bill Kronauer said. “Joining the ECMD portfolio of companies creates a stable future for the Falls City Lumber employees and allows our customers to continue to enjoy the unparalleled service we have provided them for nearly 40 years.”
