The “two-stage reactively-matched amplifier approach enables high power and power added efficiency to be achieved in a 5 x 5mm QFN surface -mount package” (black in photo), according to Richardson RFPD, which is stocking the parts, and offering design support.
- CMPA5259080S (80W)
>48% typical power added efficiency
29dB small signal gain
110W typical PSAT
40V supply max - CMPA5259050S (50W)
>50% typical power added efficiency
27dB small signal gain
65W typical PSAT
28Vmax supply
Richardson sees then in civil and military pulsed radar, and also in traditional radar driving the also new 350W 5.2 – 5.9GHz CGHV59350F, which is a GaN on SiC hemt in a 24 x 17.5mm (plus leads) ceramic-metal flanged package (photo), or a lugless version which reduces 24mm to 18mm.
This has 50Ω matching on the input and output, and 10.7dB power gain, 60% typical PAE and under 0.3dB pulsed amplitude droop, said the distributor.
Evaluation boards and test fixtures are also available.
