Weald FC Lane LMG heavy duty-connectors

‘LMG Heavy Duty’ connectors are built around a rugged brass or stainless-steel shell, and sealed to ratings from IP67 to IP69K.

“The sealed design is very robust and is able to withstand high levels of shock and vibration in demanding operational environments,” claimed the company.

Six standard contact arrangements are offered, from 2 to 19 contacts, with ratings between 5 and 19A.

Two types are available: in brass with a threaded coupling, or with a choice of brass or stainless steel with a staple coupling (see photo).

“The conventional screw coupling versions offer a coarse ribbed coupling nut that can be easily gripped with protective gloves, while the staple coupling versions work in a similar way to typical hydraulic connectors where a large metal staple is used to lock and secure the connectors together when mated,” according to Weald. “The staple provides a very quick coupling, often secured with a hammer, and it is easy to see whether it is locked or not, even under adverse conditions.”

There are in-line, panel and cable mounting styles, with a range of backshells.

Accessories include protective caps, staples, assembly spanners, and a backshell outlet accessory set for screened and unscreened multicore cable or cables with an inner collective screen.

Operating for nearly 50 years, Weald Electronics is a UK connector manufacturer. Its parts are available through sister company Lane Electronics (LMG Heavy Duty link).
