Italy looks like following the example of Germany and paying 40% of the cost of an Intel plant.

Germany is paying Intel $7.3 billion towards the $19 billion cost of a fab-site at Magdeburg.

According to Reuters the plan to build the $5 billion Intel packaging plant in Italy is set to be completed by the end of this month.

The Italian plant is part of an Intel plan to invest $88 billion in facilities in Germany, Ireland, Italy and France.

It is said that the packaging plant will be built in either Piedmont in the North-West of Italy or Veneto in the North-East.
