Government data indicated that growth considerably accelerated vs. April, both month-to-month and year-over-year.

The U.S. Census Bureau announced the seasonally adjusted quarterly after-tax profits for manufacturing industries statistics for the first quarter of 2022, and wholesale trade has seen a rise from 4Q 2021 to the first quarter of 2022.

The U.S. Census Bureau released its monthly wholesale trade report for May on July 10, showing that industry sales accelerated vs. a month earlier and year-over-year.

The figures showed that May sales of merchant wholesalers — except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, after adjustment for seasonal variations and trading day differences but not for price changes — were $666.7 billion. That was up 0.4% from the revised April level and up 1.9% year-over-year.
