The added space will help Motion meet growing customer needs while adding future opportunities across its automation and robotic platforms.

Motion Ai new facility

On April 5, MRO parts distributor Motion Industries announced the opening of its new Motion Ai facility in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Motion Ai was in need of additional manufacturing and inventory space to better meet overall customer demand and to strategically grow its business, according to a news release. The new 33,000-square-foot facility at 71 Cherry Hill Drive in Beverly complements nearby Motion Ai locations in Danvers (19,000 square feet) and Woburn (10,000 square feet), giving the company a total of 62,000 square feet of manufacturing space in the Boston area.

The Beverly facility features manufacturing lab benches and a quality control testing area.

“The expanded manufacturing space will allow us to meet growing customer needs while adding future opportunities across our entire automation and robotic platforms,” Motion Senior Vice President of Automation Intelligence Aurelio Banda said in the release. “This includes additional OEM business and the ability to accept larger orders in quantity and physical size. We expect this new facility to fuel economic growth for the region, contributing beneficial, long-term impact.”

“We are excited about this investment and anticipate that it will enhance the customer experience even more,” Motion President Randy Breaux added. “We believe it will also increase the employee experience—there is a lot of talent within Motion Ai, and this expansion will offer excellent opportunities for our employees.”

Motion launched its Motion Ai brand in 2022 to reflect the legacy of recently acquired automation brands that include Applied Machine and Motion Control, Axis New England/Axis New York, BRAAS, F&L Industrial Solutions, Integro Technologies, Kaman Automation, Meier Transmission and Numatic Engineering.

Motion was prominently featured on MDM’s Top Distributors list in 2022, ranking as the No. 1 Power Transmission/Bearings Distributor, No. 3 Industrial Distributor, No. 3 MRO Industrial Distributor, No. 3 Fluid Power Distributor and No. 24 Electrical, Data & Security Distributor. Motion was also listed among MDM’s Top Safety Distributors in 2022.
