Zelim, an Edinburgh-based firm concerned with offshore safety, has developed a new rescue system that can reportedly rescue those who have fallen overboard in under 60 seconds.

The Swift Rescue Conveyor System, as the name suggests, works like a conveyor system to pull those who have fallen from ships and offshore structures, like wind and oil and gas platforms, out of the water.

According to the developers of the Swift Rescue Conveyor, when recently trialed at an operational wind farm, the rescue system was reportedly four times faster rescuing those who have fallen overboard in harbors and 20 times faster in offshore scenarios than manual rescue efforts for pulling humans to safety.
