The UK’s Digital Catapult has invested £510,000 into Sheffield start-up Productive Machines which has “developed the world’s first autonomous milling optimisation software”, according to the Catapult.
Its product, SenseNC, is intended to simulate and optimise machine settings before operations are sent to CNC machine tools.
It is available for Siemens NX and Mastercam users, and the SenseNC Feeds version is available though Siemens’ Xcelerator Marketplace.
“SenseNC minimises waste, lowers costs, and delivers significant gains in sustainability and productivity,” claimed the Catapult, which has made the grant to help the company increase its customer base.
“Our next step will be to invest into direct sales and partnerships,” said Productive Machines’ CEO and co-founder Erdem Ozturk.
“With this investment, we are looking forward to working with Productive Machines to unlock opportunities to reshore UK manufacturing and boost industrial competitiveness,” said Digital Catapuld CEO Susan Bowen.
The investment is in the form of a convertible loan note, and is made available by Innovate UK to allow Catapults to invest directly in the businesses that they are supporting.
