France-based electrical supplies distributor Rexel is set to make a major addition to its U.S. telecommunications unit with the acquisition of Talley Inc.

Founded in 1983 by the Talley family and headquartered in Los Angeles, Talley is a major distributor of network infrastructure products to mobile network operators, installers, infrastructure operators and end-users across the U.S.

According to Rexel, Talley is expected to generate turnover of about $360 million in 2024. It operates with 11 warehouses and more than 300 employees.

Terms of the pending acquisition were not disclosed. It is expected to close in June

In a May 7 news release, Rexel detailed that the transaction will complement its $700 million sales in the North American datacom and datacenter markets — enhancing both its connected and electrified solutions that will further benefit from the electrification trends of wireless connectivity and digitalization.

Rexel added that the deal also provides access to high-growth verticals that include in-building wireless, private LTE or enterprise networks, as well as ongoing network coverage densification and future upgrades.

“The acquisition of Talley is an important step to continue to strengthen our presence in the U.S.,” Rexel CEO Guillaume Texier said. “Electrical solutions and datacom solutions are increasingly interconnected, and Talley’s acquisition will represent a step change, giving us access to expertise, solutions, suppliers and customers in the datacom space. This new transaction is fully in line with our strategy of reinforcing our exposure to faster growing trends and verticals and increasing our weight in North American markets.”

Rexel posted 2023 total sales of $20.7 billion.
