The supplied module includes: HV EMC filter, DC link capacitor, power module with drivers, and AC output filter (the artist impression above, provided by Schaeffler, may only include a sub-set of these items – Electronics weekly is seeking clarification).
Using the traction motor’s phase inductance, with its star connection switched by relays, the module can also operate as an interleaved boost converter, possibly to charge an 800V battery from a 400V source – clarification has been sought here too.
