The SSA5000A spectrum analyser has an operating range of 9kHz-26GHz and the SSG5000A RF signal generator operates at 9kHz-20GHz. Both instruments support X- and K-band measurements for microwave frequency bands.

Two models in the SSA5000A spectrum analyser series provide fast spectrum analysis from 9kHz-13.6GHz or 9kHz-26.5GHz. They have a DANL of -165dBm/Hz and a low phase noise of 105dBc/Hz. The design includes a 12-inch touchscreen display for applications in the communications and IoT sectors, RF component and transmitter evaluation. The analyser measures EVM (error vector magnitude) and other transmission quality factors and includes eye-diagram and constellation graphing modes. Intermittent signals are captured using the optional real time (RTSA) mode.

The analysis bandwidth of up to 40MHz makes transmission analysis of common protocols like Bluetooth and WLAN testing for IoT devices much easier, added the company.

Options include an EMI feature which delivers interference and electromagnetic pre-compliance measurements, analogue and digital modulation analysis (AMA / DMA) to enable common analogue (AM, FM) frequencies and digital (ASK, FSK, PSK, MSK, QAM) demodulation and analysis to accelerate debugging and design troubleshooting.

The bandwidth and functions can be upgraded at a later date, advised the distributor to meet test requirements as they evolve.

The second addition to the Telonic portfolio is the SSG5000A RF/MW signal generator which can output clean sine waves up to 20GHz. They have spectral purity and low phase noise of -120dBc/Hz and power control for high frequency LO in, for example, radar, quantum physics and RF component verification.

Frequency and level sweep functions allow faster testing and pulse signal generation as standard. When coupled with Siglent’s SSG5000X-V vector signal generator, the SSG5000A can be used to test communications modules.
