The Trump Organisation intends to launch an Android smartphone in August called the T1 selling for $499 and made in America.

The Trump Organisation says it will be manufactured in Florida, Alabama and California.

“Trump Mobile is going to change the game, we’re building on the movement to put America first, and we will deliver the highest levels of quality and service,”  says Eric Trump, President Trump’s son, “our company is based right here in the United States because we know it’s what our customers want and deserve.”

Faced with scepticism about the viability of manufacturing a smartphone in the US, Eric said: “Eventually all the phones can be built in the United States of America” leaving the possibility that early versions may be made elsewhere.

The phone will have a 6.8 inch display – the same as an iPhone Pro Max – a 5000 mAh battery, 256GB of internal storage, 12GB of RAM, USB-C charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone has a 50MP camera plus two other cameras on the back and a 16MP camera on the front.

The network for the phone is Liberty Mobile Wireless – a seven year-old Florida MVNO renting capacity from the established carriers founded by Matthew Lopatin. The  T1 is said to work with all three major US carriers and the plan costs $47.45.
