The US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo says the US says  “won’t tolerate” the ban on Micron selling memories to the operators of  key infrastucture in China.

China said it had carried out a “network security feview” on Micon’s chips and the review had concluded that Micron should be banned. no reason has been given for the review’s concludion.

Raimondo said the ban “targets a single U.S. company without any basis in fact, and we see it as plain and simple economic coercion and we won’t tolerate it, nor do we think it will be successful”,

Raimondo said the US is working will allies to oppose the measure.

Micron has said that the ban, if implemented, will result a percentage hit to revenues of anything from low single digits to high single digits i.e. $450 million (2%) to $1.8 billion (8%).
