WES Student and Apprentice Conference 2024 running in BristolIt takes place on Friday 1 November 2024 at M Shed in Bristol (there is a map for getting there), and this year apprentices – as well as students – will be welcomed.

The organisation’s Student and Apprentice Conference is designed to be a celebration of Women Student and Apprentices across all engineering disciplines. As well as networking opportunities with other students and apprentices there will be workshops focusing on career skills, and talks from industry figures. Also there will be a chance to meet exhibitors and sponsors.

Confirmed speakers include WES Trustee Vince Pizzoni, along with Jennifer MacDonald, Chemical Engineer turned Diversity professional (final details of the conference which will be released on 18 October).

For example, the WES writes:” Jennifer pivoted from frontline engineering on oil rigs to working full time in the diversity and inclusion space with a mission to expand STEM opportunities for all. Jennifer will share how she navigated her late dyslexia diagnosis, the tricks she uses to navigate new problems and how engineering enhanced her life.”

Tickets cost £95 (£85 for WES Members) and this includes access to all sessions, lunch and refreshments.

Note that last year over 100 students attended the event but this year the numbers will also be swelled by apprentices.
