Unveiled for Bonneville Speed Week, this 100mph+ 24kW dual motor e-scooter is aiming to be the world’s fastest.
It comes from UK company Bo.
“Inspired by the team’s experience with Williams Formula One, Bo has developed an ultra-high performance electric scooter with a higher power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron, its mission: world’s fastest scooter,” said the company, whose CTO Harry Wills also worked on Bloodhound.
Development has taken 18 months, and the machine reached 85mph during its first test runs at Goodwood Motor Circuit.
“Piloted by professional racing rider Tre Whyte, the Turbo completed over twenty runs building speed and delivering performance data from the battery, motor and controllers,” said the company. “The surprise in testing was accelerative performance – the Turbo demonstrated potential to out-accelerate a Tesla Model 3, even with the motors calibrated for maximum speed rather than maximum acceleration.”
A number of copies will be made for sale, and a de-tuned road-going version, the Model-M, is scheduled to reach the US market in August.
The record attempt chassis is based on the Model-M chassis, and carries a 88V 1.8kWh battery, cooled by contact with the aluminium chassis.
Lyon tuning company Rage Mechanics has a hand in the motors and their controllers, which can handle 300A peak.
